On Sunday, 4/6, 9.45-10.30 am, Fr. Dias will be sharing with the Newman Center community his experience as a priest, scholar, researcher, professor, and activist who coordinates Street Plays in Mumbai. Attendance at this presentation, too, is open to the public and free.

Dr. Dias worked several years in the Sultanate of Oman, which is on the Persian Gulf, prior to joining the Society of Jesus in the 1980s. He continues to work for change in quality of life in India with Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Secular Humanists, and Atheists in urban and rural areas.

Although this is the first time he is visiting the United States to present a research paper “Eminent Domain, Tribal Displacement and Internal Colonization,” on 3/27, at an international conference in Memphis, TN, he has already presented in Melbourne, Australia, some of his scholarly work as an activist.
